Basic education, grades 7-9

The development of entrepreneurship and working life skills continues through grades 7–9 of basic education. Here the starting point of entrepreneurship education is inspiration for the future and helping students find their own thing to support their upcoming educational decisions. The students are encouraged to see their own opportunities and to boldly try new things.

Entrepreneurial and working life skills

  1. Reinforcing the students’ broad knowledge with projects and long-lasting and multidisciplinary learning modules, for example.
  2. Encouraging learners to recognise and showcase their own skills while taking their hobbies and interests into account.
  3. Practicing teamwork, co-operation and leadership in groups. The students evaluate their own work as well as that of the group.
  1. Reinforcing the students’ knowledge of the society and the economy, and learning to manage one’s own finances.
  2. Entrepreneurship and working life skills are practiced together with corporate partners and via on-the-job learning.
  3. Guiding students to find their own place in secondary education and showing them how to find employment opportunities in their home town after they graduate.

Learning environments and methods
