Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Activity Day

During the course, students learn about entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial activity through making. The course consists of three parts: an independent pre-assignment, an event day and an independent final report. The pre-assignment will be completed before the day in question. The final report is completed at the end of the day.

The event day will include a joint launch, inspiring entrepreneurial stories and one joint update. The course will generally be delivered digitally, using a shared digital learning environment, such as ItsLearning. If necessary, assignments and worksheets can be printed out for students. The material package includes instructions for the teacher, tasks, assignment videos and worksheets.

The package is suitable for both upper secondary and vocational education.

Duration/length

The theme day takes the form of one working day (8–16), complemented by an independent pre-assignment for the students to complete.

Learning outcomes

  • Students will be able to have a positive attitude towards entrepreneurship and to identify entrepreneurship as an opportunity for their career path.
  • Students will be able to identify business opportunities and solve customer problems in a responsible, innovative and sustainable way in co-operation with their network.
  • Students will understand the aspects of entrepreneurship and business planning.
  • Students will learn to tolerate uncertainty and identify risks in their entrepreneurial activities.

Which aspect of entrepreneurial skills does the tool strengthen?

Identifying opportunities, evaluating ideas and working with others.

Implementation tips

A few things to stress to students at the beginning and during the day:

  • Entrepreneurship does not require the invention of a completely new product/service. It is usually enough to do things better/more efficiently/more ecologically/more customer-oriented than your competitors.
  • The business idea can and does change during the design process.
  • Not all questions may be answered during the day. The more complex the business idea, the more there are issues to be resolved and the more time is limited. It is not worth getting bogged down in details.
  • You can thematise the whole by setting priorities for the business idea you are developing (e.g. sustainability, digitalisation or internationalisation).
  • The focus of the day is on doing, so the role of the teacher is facilitating and guiding. Assignments and tutorial videos can be uploaded to a learning platform, where groups can view them at their own pace.
